About us

The Polish Electricity Association (PKEE) is an association of the electrical power sector, whose activities focus on issues related to the functioning of the industry in a modern market economy. We engage in actions and projects thanks to which the Polish electrical power industry can better meet the challenges related to European integration, ensuring power supply safety, competitive market, environmental protection and development of state-of-the-art technologies.

History

The Polish Electricity Association (PKEE) started its activity in 1997, but its founding meeting was held in the autumn of 1996 and an application was submitted for entry into the register of associations.Shortly after Poland joined the EU, in May 2005, the Polish Electricity Association co-organized the Polish Energy Day in Brussels, during which the entire Polish power sector was presented.In 2014, PKEE opened its office in Brussels.

EURELECTRIC

The Polish Electricity Association, being a fully entitled member of the International Association of Eurelectric, has the right to nominate its experts / members to the Eurelectric Committee. The committees play a very important role in describing the organizations approach to issues and actions pertaining to area strategy, and sector policy development which is in the center of attention in the European electro-energetic sector.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership

These natural persons are professionally connected with the electricity sector and legal persons engaged in business activities in the field, interested in the implementation of statutory objectives of the association. Being a member of the Polish Electricity Association gives many perks and privileges such as access to and sharing of information, knowledge of legislation in Poland and the European Union and the presentation of proposals affecting the enacted legislation.

The Polish Electricity Association consists of ordinary members and support members. Ordinary members may be an adult natural person, including foreign nationals who are not residents in the territory of the Polish Republic. A legal person may only be a supporting member of the association.

Possibilities

Ordinary members have the right to participate in all forms of activity PKEE, in particular:
  • participate in General Meetings with voting,
  • vote and stand as a candidates in PKEE elections,
  • eject candidates during PKEE elections,
  • submit postulates to PKEE authorities.
PKEE Supporting Members are entitled to:
  • participate in the General Meeting in an advisory capacity,
  • submit demands to PKEE authorities,
  • nominate PKEE authority candidates under the terms of Art. 18

MISSION

Synergy

Working together with our partners from other countries at regular meetings in Brussels, we develop common positions and actions for the European electricity sector. We constitute an important forum for discussion on the power sector, we cooperate with public administration by consulting legal acts and initiatives which affect the functioning of the industry.

Activity

We actively support the development of the Polish power sector, influencing the formation of rational and conducive to its development regulatory environment, both in Poland and the European Union. From the beginning of its existence, PKEE brings together the largest Polish power companies. For many years the Committee has been a member of the Union of the Electricity Industry EURELECTRIC.

Bodies of the Association

Members of the Polish Electricity Association form the highest authority within the organization. Within their scope of duties are for example: pointing out how the business should act, approval of Management Board reports, and establishing annual estimates of income and expenditures.

  2. directing all activities of PKEE and managing its property,
  3. defining detailed rules of conducting business activity by PKEE,
  4. initiating and coordinating PKEE cooperation with other national and foreign associations,
  5. initiating and coordinating the work of PKEE Study Committees, disseminating in the country the results of work and materials of conferences, symposia and other activities in areas related to statutory objectives of PKEE,
  6. drawing up draft estimates of revenue and expenditure,
  7. adoption of PKEE by-laws,
  8. admitting new members to PKEE, excluding PKEE members and notifying expiration of membership,
  9. convening, setting the agenda and organising PKEE General Meetings, implementing General Meetings' resolutions and the Audit Committee's motions,
  10. Motion to grant or deprive of the honorary membership of PKEE,
  11. setting up and supervising the work of the administrative units of the PKEE m. setting deadlines for the payment of dues and the amount of membership fees.

  1. to carry out an annual audit of the association's activities and to draw up conclusions on this basis and to present them to the General Assembly and the Governing Board,
  2. carrying out ad hoc inspections of individual areas of the association's activity, if necessary,

  4. making a motion to the General Assembly to discharge the members of the Governing Board.
