Six months of protection from high prices

Poles have been benefiting from the Solidarity Shield since autumn, thanks to which net electricity prices for households have not increased. All households in Poland are entitled to a limit of 2 000 kWh of consumption, up to which the cost of energy is more than half subsidised by the government and energy companies. Experts agree that it is necessary to consistently build capacity in renewable sources and nuclear power. Poles know about electricity-related support programmes

Two out of three Poles have heard of the existence of at least one programme to limit the impact of rising energy prices on household budgets, according to a survey by the YOTTA agency commissioned by the Polish Electricity Committee. The most popular programme is the carbon allowance, with as many as 80 per cent of respondents claiming to be familiar with it.
