PKEE will present the Polish Power Sector is Changing report at the COP24

6th of December at the COP24 is dedicated to the power sector. The Polish Electricity Association will use it to present its report on the contribution of the Polish power sector to the realisation of the global climate policy. Its results will be discussed by prominent Polish and international figures of authority, including the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy - Grzegorz Tobiszowski.

The events related to the presentation of the “Polish Power Sector is Changing” PKEE report will commence at 11:30 hours at the Polish Pavilion at COP24. The publication summarises the key aspects of the operation of the Polish Power sector aiming at reducing its environmental impact. The report also provides information on already implemented and still planned measures in the context of the global and EU climate policy against the background of selected EU Member States.

The presentation of the report will be crowned with a moderated panel discussion attended by:

  • Grzegorz Tobiszowski, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy;
  • Henryk Baranowski, President of the Management Board of PKEE;
  • Filip Grzegorczyk, Vice President of the Management Board of PKEE;
  • Mirosław Kowalik, Vice President of the Management Board of PKEE;
  • Jacek Kościelniak, Member of the Management Board of PKEE;
  • Yvon Slingenberg, Director DG Clima, European Commission;
  • Matthew Willey, Director of External Affairs, Drax Group.

The topics to be discussed will include the history and assessment of the Polish power sector, global power industry trends and foresight, the EU goals and climate policy, energy transition in the global, EU and Polish context, as well as the Just Energy Transition.
